What's your turnaround time?
Depending on the complexity of the text and our workload, you can expect the first proof within 15 calendar days of payment. Rush jobs are available but will cost more. We'll discuss the exact timeline along with the other project details.
How much will it cost?
The price can vary a lot from project to project, but the Rates page can give you an idea.
Discounts are available if you order additional services.
How about corrections?
I'll fix any formatting errors immediately and free of charge. If you find errors in the content (typos, grammar) or wish to add, remove or change any of the text, let me know so we can discuss the best course of action. Quick changes won't cost you anything, but anything time-consuming will be charged at an hourly rate of £25.
What exactly do you do when you format my book?
- Software: I do the work in Adobe InDesign, the best tool in the industry for precise layout work.
- Design: I create the “look and feel” of the book, making sure that it matches the genre and is easy on the eyes.
- Setup: I set up the document to ensure that it meets the publisher’s requirements.
- Front matter: I add copyright notice, table of contents, acknowledgements, and so on.
- Typesetting: I format the chapter numbers and titles, add pagination and headers, and anything else you require, whether it is images or tables or bibliography.
- Quality testing: I check every single page before delivery.
- Handover: I present you with the source files and a final print-ready PDF file that meets the publisher’s requirements, looks professional, and is a pleasant reading experience.
